Big-purchase shopper

Teach it to negotiate. Not just your max price.

shared by @MarsHomestead

How it's set up

He posted that he hands Grok Bot a product and a budget and it hunts stacked discounts. He said it found about $310 off a $1,550 drone. The lesson: teach it to negotiate, not just your max price. We have the post. We do not have a checkout receipt, and we do not have a public install.

  1. 01Name one big purchase. Write the product, the must-haves, and a hard max.
  2. 02Ask the bot to hunt stacked discounts: coupon, cashback, open-box, refurbished, price match. Log each source.
  3. 03Tell it to draft a short negotiate note. You send it. The bot does not buy.
  4. 04Compare landed cost, not sticker. Shipping and tax count.
  5. 05Buy only after you open the final quote yourself.
  6. 06Write down the before and after price. That gap is the receipt.

Prompt

We cannot write an honest starter prompt from what was published. Use the steps above.

How the money works

The money is what you do not spend. First proof is one quote under your budget you can open — not a claimed savings we have not seen.

What to try first

This week: one product, one hard max, one written hunt with sources, and one negotiate draft you send yourself.

Watch out

  • Tokens: a wide hunt across stores can burn the run. Cap the sites.
  • Time: one purchase this week. Do not open five carts.
  • Claim: the $310 off is what he posted. Not a checkout receipt we saw. Not a public install.
