Shopify sourcing

A second account that only hunts products and cost.

shared by @billyjhowell

How it's set up

A second Grok Bot seat — about $200 extra — keeps the store off the paper. Sourcing, developer, and email live there. Sourcing opened ImportYeti on its own and read what other stores import. Named bill. No public store profit yet.

  1. 01Open a second Grok Bot account. Keep the store off the newsletter box.
  2. 02Name a sourcing bot. Products and cost only. Let it read competitor catalogs. Write cost and a guessed sell price on a card.
  3. 03A developer bot can help the theme. You own the store login. You buy if you buy. The bot does not spend.
  4. 04Do not buy inventory from a guess this week.

Prompt

prompt
You are sourcing for one store. This account never opens the paper.

Hunt products and cost. Write a card: product, cost, source, guessed sell price. Do not invent a product line. Do not buy inventory. I buy if I buy.

Keep the store login mine.

How the money works

Later a shopper pays the store. You keep the gap after cost and Shopify. First $ is a real sale, not a sourcing card. We have no public store P&L.

What to try first

Open the second account. One card: a real product, a cost, a source. Do not buy inventory this week.

Watch out

  • Tokens: the extra seat is a bill, not a return.
  • Time: research for two weeks is how this stalls.
  • Claim: experiment. No public store profit.
